MYOFASCIAL TREATMENT OR MYOFASCIAL INDUCTION
To understand Myofascial Induction you first have to know about fascia. The fascia is a sort of uninterrupted mesh that completely covers us. Its functions are to support, protect, organize and transmit movement. This mesh is made of, among other things, braided collagen fibers. When this tissue loses quality, the cross fibers become “entangled” and restrictions, contractions and other dysfunctions appear.
With Myofascial Therapy, we are able to induce movement in this tissue so it “untangles” and recovers its optimal quality. This is done with gentle stretches or pressure held for a certain time.
Since the fascia participates in all the body’s structures, its symptoms are as varied as: structural pain or dysfunctions such as cramps, tendonitis; visceral dysfunctions (gastric, respiratory, intestinal, reproductive, etc.), migraines and headaches; post traumatic recovery and many others.
A patient’s description of his or her pain during an interview reveals practically all the information about the injury. THE KEY: It is finding out the why of the injury, the cause, what the chain is that has led to the injury.
